Requirements
To run LumiScan, the following components are required:
On ctrlX OS:
-
ctrlX CORE or ctrlX IPC with the ctrlX Data Layer
On a PC:
-
PC with Windows 11 or Ubuntu 24.04 and LumiScan Keryx
-
NVIDIA GPU with the CUDA Toolkit 12.9 and cuDNN 9.11.1 for CUDA 12.9 (the Windows installer requires both)
On both:
-
Neural Network Models provided by LumiScan Training Framework software
Licence
How LumiScan AI Object Matching is licensed depends on where you bought it and where it runs:
| Bought from | Runs on | Licensing |
|---|---|---|
HD Vision Systems |
Windows 11 or Ubuntu 24.04 |
The licence is held on your LumiScan Key. It is a one-time purchase and needs no renewal. |
ctrlX Store |
Windows 11 |
The licence is held in ctrlX WORKS. The LumiScan Key is required in addition; it protects the software against reverse engineering. |
ctrlX Store |
ctrlX OS (ctrlX CORE or IPC) |
ctrlX licence |
Each device on which LumiScan AI Object Matching runs at the same time needs its own LumiScan Key. Keys can be exchanged between devices.
How to install CodeMeter Runtime and how to request, renew and move licences is described in LumiScan Licensing.
On ctrlX OS, the application shuts down shortly after starting if the licence is missing; the reason is written to the system log.
Optional: TPU Acceleration (ctrlX OS)
TPU acceleration can be used to improve neural network inference performance, but it is not required for running LumiScan.
If TPU acceleration is enabled, make sure the ctrlX CORE includes a TPU and meets the following software and hardware support requirements:
| ctrlX CORE Hardware | Minimum App Version | App Hardware Support Version |
|---|---|---|
X3 |
>= v1.2 |
== 2.6.2 |
X7 |
>= v1.1 |
== 2.6.2 |
Optional: GPU Acceleration (PC)
On a PC, inference can be accelerated with an NVIDIA GPU: set provider to CUDA in the model description file, see Model.json File.
