# Meta Settings – LumiScan VGR

The `meta` section contains information about the JSON settings file and the LumiScan VGR version for which the configuration is intended.

It identifies the settings format, associates the configuration with a target machine, and records the corresponding application and software version.

## Properties

| Property | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `inputFileType` | Identifies the type of settings file. For LumiScan VGR settings, the value is `LumiScanVGRSettings`. |
| `inputFileVersion` | Specifies the version of the JSON settings format. |
| `targetMachine` | Specifies the machine or system for which the configuration is intended. |
| `programName` | Specifies the application that uses the configuration. For LumiScan VGR, the value is `LumiScanVGR`. |
| `programVersion` | Specifies the LumiScan VGR version associated with the configuration. |

## Metadata Format

The JSON metadata format changed after LumiScan VGR version 1.7.0.0.

**Old Format**

**New Format**

```

New configurations should use the current `meta` structure.
