Release Notes: v1.2.0

The Cockpit now shows the result of every vision application in the suite, not just a camera image.

New

Eight applications draw their results, each on the image it worked on: the Text Reader, Template Finder, Object Finder and Area Detector, and the Aztec Code, QR Code, Barcode and DMC readers. An application with modules is listed as its modules; a code reader has one view, named after the code it reads. See Viewing Results.

Live images. A view refreshes about 200 ms after the picture behind it changes, rather than on a fixed two second poll, so what is on screen follows the line instead of trailing it. See Live Updates.

Worth knowing

The Area Detector’s regions are drawn as a translucent tint, one colour per region, labelled <label>:<area> — the label is the region’s number in output/blob-labels, so a measured area can be traced back to the pixels it came from. A rectangle could not show that: two touching parts that were separated and two that were merged give the same overlapping boxes.

A view shows the region that was searched, taken from the result itself rather than from the module’s current crop settings. Editing a crop after a run therefore does not move the picture out from under the findings still on display.

If the camera resolution changed since the last run, the findings are not drawn and a note says which size the result belongs to. Run the application again to refresh.
