Getting Started
Pick the path that matches what you want to do. Each one is a short series of numbered steps that ends with a result you can see, and each step tells you when it is done and what comes next.
| You are | Path | You end with | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
User - you want to see what the camera delivers |
a LumiScan X image and point cloud on your screen, saved to disk |
about 10 min |
|
System integrator - you build a cell with camera, vision app and controller |
a part found in a camera image, the result read by your PLC |
about 1 h |
|
Software developer - your own program talks to LumiScan |
your program captures an image and reads a processing result |
about 1 h |
Before you start: which parts do you need?
LumiScan is a set of building blocks: cameras, vision apps that process their images, tools that prepare neural networks, and the robot guidance software LumiScan VGR. Which of them you need, what hardware they run on and how they connect to your controller is described in the Platform Overview - a five-minute read that saves the most common detours.
After the first steps
-
Each product has its own manual with the full reference; the overview page lists them all.
-
How the vision apps exchange data - addresses, call patterns, status codes - is described once for all of them in the LumiScan Keryx manual. To try it hands-on, without a camera, see Getting Started with LumiScan Keryx.
