About this Documentation

This documentation covers the whole LumiScan product family by HD Vision Systems: the LumiScan X camera, the vision apps for ctrlX OS and PC (Cam Driver, the finders, code and text readers, AI Object Matching, Calibration, Cockpit), the robot guidance software LumiScan VGR with LumiScan VGR Engineering, the AI tools LumiScan Annotation, Training and File Transfer, and the shared manuals on LumiScan Keryx and on licensing. The overview page lists every manual.

Each product has its own manual. What several products share is described once: how the vision apps exchange data in LumiScan Keryx, how licences work in LumiScan Licensing.

Please read the relevant sections carefully before using any of the applications.

Where to Start

New to LumiScan? The Getting Started section explains how the platform fits together and leads you, step by step, to a first result - as a user, as a system integrator or as a software developer.

Unfamiliar terms are explained in the Glossary & Terminology. In the text, the first occurrence of such a term in a section is underlined with a dotted line - hover over it for a short definition.

Formatting Convention

This guide uses special formatting to highlight certain words and phrases:

  • Keywords/important information and buttons are highlighted in bold (e.g. Then click on Install).

  • Links and references are highlighted in color (e.g. https://hdvisionsystems.com).

  • File and path names and Data Layer addresses are highlighted in a special font (e.g. HDVAppData).
